Blogger Virgin

Finally...here it is. My very first blog entry!! Here goes...
I'm hoping by starting a blog that I'll be able to meet new friends who share my interest in crafting.  I'm going to share my crafty ideas and projects, and try to take part in challenges from other crafty blogs. Hopefully in time, I'll be able to set up my own challenges too!

This last weekend I was a busy bee...Friday I had a whole day craft workshop at The Papeterie in Aberdeen with Amy Shaw, freelance craft tutor/demonstrator and the main craft presenter on QVC UK.  Met so many nice people who I hope
to keep in contact with - Wendy Newcombe, Gill McCall and Lisa Garrow. And I learned so much. Morning workshop was all about using alcohol inks & distress inks from Tim Holtz, we made some amazing cards using the fantastic effects you can get from these mediums. After a quick lunch, it was on to Stamping Techniques. We used the Distress Inks again and some watercolour effects, with some great results.  I was so pleased with the cards I made - I'd never been to a craft workshop before and had never used alcohol inks before. I was so proud of myself!!

Needless to say, I went back out to The Papeterie on Saturday too, to see Amy demonstrating again. Spent a blooming fortune on buying blending tools, alcohol inks, distress inks, card and a couple of background stamps.  Then, on Sunday, Gill & Lisa contacted me asking if I was heading back out to the Papeterie to see Debbi Moore demonstrating. I didn't take much persuasion, headed over
there and then I spent even more money!!!  But I do have lots more goodies for my crafty stash

Next project is two cards for a neighbour (anniversary & male birthday).  Will use my Cricut I think. Will post photos of the cards once I work out how to do it
